Cincinnati Pops Orchestra

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, under the baton of Conductor John Morris Russell, celebrates America by honoring the heroes of 9/11 and our nation’s storied history. Patriotism abounds in this performance invoking themes of pride, bravery and brotherhood, featuring the main title from the blockbuster film Captain America, John Williams’ “Hymn to the Fallen,” and an inspiring “Salute to the Armed Forces.” The Cincinnati Pops is among the world’s preeminent ensembles that has been sending audiences home humming for decades. The distinctly American spirit of the Pops embraces the full spectrum of popular music from Verdi to Springsteen. In the words of Duke Ellington, often quoted by Mr. Russell, “If it sounds good, it is good.”
