Volunteer Opportunities

The EKU Center for the Arts has a growing group of spectacular volunteers to assist our EKU Staff for shows and events as ticket takers, greeters, and ushers.  It is a wonderful opportunity to support the arts, see incredible shows, network, and to support the arts in our community.

  • We accept volunteers ages 18 and up.
  • Non-exempt (paid hourly) EKU employees may not volunteer.
  • Must agree to volunteer to a minimum of 3 performances per season.
  • Current EKU employees may not serve as volunteers in any capacity in which they are employed at the University, or which is essentially similar to or related to their regular work at the University.

Shifts: Majority of our performances are during the evening and generally starting at 7:30pm.  We ask that volunteers arrive at your scheduled time.  Most schedules will begin one and one-half hours prior to the performance.

Attire: Females are required to wear a plain black dress with black closed toed shoes.  Males are required to wear black suits, white shirt, maroon tie, black belt, black socks and black shoes.

Orientation: All volunteers are encouraged to attend an orientation session annually. These sessions are designed to inform volunteers about general policies and procedures, train for Crowd Control Management (CCM), and other useful information is provided to assist our patrons.  These orientations are held once or twice annually and are generally in September and January.
