COVID-19 Health & Safety Guidelines

Tuesday, March 23, 2021

As our venue reopens, we will be following the guidance of university and state health officials, as well as recommendations from the CDC, in order to maximize patron safety.

Below you will find our most up-to-date health and safety procedures to help you plan for your visit. Note that these protocols are designed for the current limited-capacity, in-person performances at the EKU Center. The impact of COVID-19, as well as public health guidelines and laws, may change often, and we will update our protocols as new guidance becomes available. Please check back often for the most recent information.

Out of concern for all guests, health and safety guidelines must be observed by everyone, regardless of vaccination status. This includes the required wearing of masks at all times in and around our venues.

Face Masks

  • Individuals who are not fully vaccinated are expected to wear a mask at all times while in the venue.

Health & Safety Screenings

  • If you are experiencing symptoms or have recently been exposed, stay at home and contact the Box Office for information about ticket options.
  • Before entering our venues, all guests, staff, volunteers, and artists, will be asked to certify that they are not experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and have not been recently exposed to anyone with COVID-19.

Enhanced Cleaning

Our venues are routinely cleaned and sanitized. High traffic areas, frequently touched surfaces, and restrooms are cleaned before, during, and after every event. Hand-sanitizing stations are also provided throughout our venues.

Social Distancing

  • All guests and staff will maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet.
  • Lines will be managed to enforce social distancing and to avoid overcrowding in restrooms and lobby.
  • Plexi-glass partitions have been added to our Box Office.
  • Elevator usage will be limited to one family/group at a time.
  • You may be asked to take your seats early to avoid congestion in the lobbies.
  • Remain in your ticketed seats before, during, and after the performance.
  • You may be asked to exit the theater by row, and to follow one-way directional traffic.
  • Our staff will guide you with announcements and friendly reminders, and respond to any questions or concerns you may have.

Reduced capacity, social distanced seating has been implemented for all upcoming events. We will continue to monitor capacity limits and adjust this procedure per the most recent recommendations from state and local health officials and University administration.

Touchless Environment

  • As much as possible, please use mobile tickets rather than paper tickets to reduce touch points.
  • All sales (including merchandise and tickets) will be credit card only to create a “touchless” payment environment.
  • Select doors will be propped open.
  • Since everything can’t be touchless, we encourage all guests, staff, and volunteers to wash their hands frequently or to use the hand sanitizer stations located throughout our venues.

We all have a part to play in maximizing the health and safety of everyone at our venues. We will be strictly enforcing our COVID-19 protocols, and therefore, guests who do not comply with any of our COVID-19 health procedures may be required to leave the venue with no ticket refunds.

We appreciate your cooperation. It is because of your help that we are able to reopen safely.
